COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRY

Communications Director: Sis Nkechi Ogburia

Through the years divine instruction has come to the church concerning the importance of using contemporary communication media in spreading the gospel. We have been counseled: We must take every justifiable means of bringing the light before the people. Let the press be utilized, and let every advertising agency be employed that will call attention to the work.

The Media Ministry

The Media Ministry of the Deltona SDA Church, under the banner of the Communications Ministry, seeks to carry out that which was set forth by Jesus Christ in His Great Commission.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:19,20.

With these verses in mind, the Media Ministry exists to enhance the worship experience for our guests and members alike. Through the many technical areas, we strive to:

  • Enhance the worship experience through audio/video and lighting,
  • Go beyond the physical walls of our church by way of broadcasts to invite others to learn of God’s love, and
  • Provide resources that we pray will enable you to develop a deeper walk with Him.

The Communication Leader’s Role

It’s true that communication is central to every aspect of our local church structure today, technically making every leader in the church a communicator. The communication leader’s role is specifically defined to ensure that members are kept informed and the church is properly represented to the public. Following are the four areas that encompass this ministry.

Public Relations

Building, monitoring, and protecting the image of the local church and its name, within the community.

Media Relations

Raise public awareness of the church — its members, its mission, and its message; work to get church activities and events noted in the media; and help to get the church’s views included in the news adequately and accurately.

News and Information

It’s vital to keep church members informed about upcoming activities, and equally important to share church news with conference communication directors and the larger Adventist family.

Advertising and Promotion

Strategically promote all church programs and evangelism campaigns to attract attendance.
